Not sure about other countries, but here in Malaysia, things are getting frm bad to worse in the form of the H1N1 virus.

The death rate is going up. Some schools are closed but not all.

Washing hands and sneezing into sleeves are a few methods of prevention that we all can take. And i dont need to warn you guys not to do some other stupid things that help spread. If you want me to, i'll be happy to oblige. Send in your $25 registration fee and we can talk. Kidding.

A very good friend of mine, A, is in quarentine because her mom got the virus. Apparently it is not so serious as to warrant a stay in the hospital but it is still dangerous. She's been given some antibiotics but not the 'cure/prevention' that the government has because it is in the beginning stages. whatever. I still think she should be given all the help that is available but thats just one little voice in the midst of everything else.

Please pray for her mother and the family, and spread this warning.

saa...its been 5 years since i came here but it feels like longer, ne?

there are some things that i miss like the food and the culture but i think my life changed for the better when i came here

well....today was a day of ying and yang to say the least....

the Good:
SCHOOL IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MIDTERMS ARE OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! *happy happy dance of ultimate joy*

the japanese lunch was a hit, if i can say so myself! Food = umai, company = excellent and la_vie_boheme's dogs = kawaii. We definately have to do it again!

the Bad:

my house was broken into. yeah....

luckily no one was at home and the thieves only made off with 4 watches. they broke a window pane to unlatch the window in the master's bedroom and crawled in.

the room was, needless to say, a mess. they ransacked the place looking for whatever valuables they could find which was 4 watches, two of my mom's and two of my dad's.

but the real mastermind was my mother. She cleverly hid her valuable jewelry and money in the safest place and the burglers never found them. ^____^ so proud of her!

this is the second time and the least traumatic, thank the gods. the first was when i was really small and my father was away on the other side of Malaysia for work. the thieves actually broke into the house when my mother and i were sleeping. she awoke with a knife held to her throat (one they took from out kitchen actually). again, thank God that they only wanted $ so they didnt give her a hart time or anything. for a few months after, my parents prowled around the house making sure that the windows were locked and alarm set. an extra bold was installed on the doors.
so this is where she got her slight paranoia aboout making sure everything is hidden away and the house was locked up before we went anywhere. good thing too

so to anyone who reads this, remember that eventhough you think your neigbourhood is safe, just be careful and hide your valuables in the unlikeliest places!

sorry for the slightly depressing entry but hey, no school! also this is the longest i've written, i think... ^____^

i was so looking forward to eating w/ my friends on a tatami table and then i find out that the stupid resturant requires you to spend a minimum of $150 dollars to eat there..................*%$#@#%$^^%$&**^*@$%%@$!!!!!!

just to eat at a freaking tatami table!

so now i have to go and tell everyone that we have to eat at a regular table.....i hope the noise we make drives everyone else away...

IT IS FREAKING SNOWING.

i have never seen snow before and the second day before exams, it starts to snow.
I live in texas where it never snows and it is snowing right now. it is a freaking SIGN, i tell you.

i would stay outside forever but i do not want to get frostbite and it is bloody COLD out there. so in compensation i am sitting near the window watching the snow fall.

laugh at the tiny Malaysian girl who dancing outside in pure glee and catching bits of snow on her toungue, if you must but i wont hear you because I DONT CARE and it is SNOWING.

there is a light-up reindeer in my house. i am not kidding you. it is sitting in my living room being cooed over by my parents who are weird. to show you a bit of their weirdness, they were practising tossing grapes and catching them in their mouths. nuff said.

if people wonder why i am so weird, i blame it on genetics and the water here.

i also blame misadono for introducing me to Arashi. i am fangirling so hard im scaring myself. And the others around me. 

8 ways i know that i've gotten it bad:

1. instead of manga/books, i want an Arashi picturebook for christmas
2. i have over 130 Arashi pics on my computer
3. i am married to my Zune which has all my Arashi songs on it (given by misadono)
4. i spent all day yesterday on youtube watching the Arashi TV shows (ex. Mago mago, D no Arashi, etc)
5. it is all that i can talk about which is making my parents look at me strangely
6. just the picture of an Arashi member lifts my mood easily (ohno pics work the best followed by Jun)
7. i am writing a fanfic on arashi that exceeds 8 pages (both sides) which i know that i will never show it to anyone but am still writing it anyway
8. i wake up in the morning to Arashi songs and go to sleep with the same songs

part of me is terrified yet the other part (which is growing) says "Screw you" and goes to look for more Arashi-related stuff online

Hell.

at school, you hear a lot of rumours about teachers; that they give lots of homework or hard tests or somethings like that.

well, i heard a friend say that my physics teacher was mean. i didnt believe her at first. Mrs A cracked jokes, gave interesting physics lessons and was willing to help me on the labs. she even talked to me nicely when i failed one of my labs.

today, she is officially one of my least liked teachers.
i accidentally left my new jacket in the physics classroom so i went back to get it just before 7th period. the room was full of students who needed help with their homework, one of them being a friend of mine. i asked her if she has seen my jacket. Laughingly she told me that Mrs A had wiped the floor with it and it was hanging outside. i thought she was kidding.

when i went to talk to Mrs A, she told me (and i quote to the best of my ability) "Yeah, it's outside. You might not want to wear it now." (insert laughter from the class who overheard)

i said,"Why?"

"Because it's wet." sure enough it was and there was a patch of floor that looked suspiciously like it had been wet and wiped with a cloth (aka my jacket). there were paper towels and tissue paper in the room and this was the first time i had left anything in that room, so she had absoutely no reason to wipe stuff off the floor with my $60 school jacket.

yeah. i was soo embarassed at that point that i fled to the safety of the sculpture barn and buried my nose in my work.

am too agitated and pissed off to concentrate on homework. apparently this is what it feels like to have your pleasant illusions about someone shattered to tiny bits.

on the other hand, exams are 7 school days from now which made me slighty depressed in school today....*sigh*

not only did i remember to post, but i have now gotten to pg 12 of my manga!! *pumps fist in air*

sadly i have been coerced into doing homework and clearing up my study area so i have less time on the computer and/or drawing...

anyway, it is to my great frustration that whatever i do, i cannot seem to draw any faster or concentrate on homework so i can get it done quicker...instead i wander off and look up pwetty sites on the internet....

*sigh*

but hey, 12 pages in 2.5 days ! *dances around in glee* 

nee.....i gotz new idea for manga!!!!! yay!!!
it came to me in a ray of light, with an invisible choir of angels singing in the background......jk but it did come to me in church which highlights the fact that i often zone out in church....heh, heh
all i can say is that it is based off a book (not a doujishini) and that it features all my friends (or at least certain parts of thier characters) in it! i blame seussical

switching hats to novel ideas;
i also gotz an idea of a virtual-reality fighting-competition game thingy losely based off chess!
2 teams battle each other with the players taking on roles of the chess pieces (ex: bishops are magick users, kingts nust be mounted, queen= team leader, etc) but the pawns are physical objects that can be moved around and used as weapons/cover/treasure chests/etc and the kings are either a valuable piece of treasure/item each team has to defend or a person that fuels the whole team (debating the idea that if the king's belief in his/her team falters, the entire team feels weaker or something like that)

yeah. fun-filled day.
